Two more requests from my Random Acts of Drabble post (and, yup, you can still request 'em!)!

The first is from [livejournal.com profile] rosa_acicularis, who very kindly requested a Doctor Who fic with "Frogs. That's the whole prompt. Frogs.". :D

The second is from [livejournal.com profile] tigerkat24, who requested a Sherlock Holmes/Doctor Who crossover with the prompt "You've gotta be kidding." I cheated a bit, but I imagine most serious Holmesians will be quoting the prompt immediately after reading. :D

Title: The Leal

Word Count: 500-word quintuple drabble.

Spoilers: "The Parting of the Ways" fill-in-the-blanks, with spoilers for "Father's Day" and "Genesis of the Daleks".

Rating: G

Characters: The Controller, Jackie, Captain Jack, the Doctor, and Rose.

Author's Note: This is a quick little thing born of pure insanity and a sort of mutual dare with [personal profile] rosa_acicularis  forged in the hope of destroying the very fabric of space and time. The poem was selected at random from www.plagiarist.com and the drabbles were written around it based on what the stolen tiny time-travelling robots tell me to write. Yes. Perfectly sane, in other words.

The universe is a cold, forbidding place. )

In which: The quantum slingshot makes its unwanted début, a wholly unexpected sort of battleground emerges, and things, as they are wont to do in a story like this, go from bad to worse.

Link: In unison, the Doctor and Rose raised their hands. This, Rose thought as she squinted into the blackness, was getting off to a bad – but not entirely unexpected – start. )

You may have noticed (if you've seen this journal for more than a few seconds, that is) that I post memes from time to time.  Just for the heck of it, I've made up my own.  It's a writing meme, meant to kill writer's block in... well, however many minutes it takes you to write five super-quick half-drabbles.  That's right, half-drabbles. 50 words. This'll be nuts.

In fact, it's a multi-fandom fanfiction meme!

Also: I'm taking drabble requests just for the heck of it.  Comment with a situation, a prompt, a punctuation mark!  Any fandom - anything goes.  I'll write you up something very quickly and we'll see what happens.
eponymous_rose: (DW | Rose | Carry On)
We-ell, I finished watching "Army of Ghosts" and "Doomsday" and, it being 2 AM and all, felt decidedly poetic.  Thoroughly convinced that I'm more clever than I actually am at this time of the night morning, I scribbled up a drabble for another challenge over at [community profile] dw100.  In five minutes.  *wince*   The challenge phrase was "lost at sea".  Because we all have a little "Doomsday" angst to get out of our systems, right?  Apologies to T.S. Eliot.
