Doctor Who | Hearth and Home
Feb. 20th, 2008 12:01 amTitle: Hearth and Home
Author:
eponymous_rose
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose, Mickey
Author's Note: Brain eaten by ficathons. Drabbles as a possible side-effect.
A girl in every fireplace, then.
Rose leans against the wall, watches the Doctor at the TARDIS console, and Mickey, who's following the Doctor's overly complex instructions, pushing buttons and levers that she's fairly sure are just for show.
A life, mere moments to him, passing forever on the other side. Is that all she is, the sum of her parts - the instants of her life as clockwork, to be rewound and halted at will?
"Come on, Rose!" His voice is too cheerful, saccharine, and she forces herself to grin.
There are, after all, worse fates than the slow path.
