Not of the universe, no - he's had enough of that, and the TARDIS still has nightmares. But every time's a beginning to someone.
"It's a nebula," he says, grinning as she gapes out at the view afforded through the open door. "The birth of a star."
She watches the massive pillars of gas hover, off in the distance, still, suspended in space. "Which star?" she asks, and her voice is quiet, reverent.
"A load of 'em," he says, and leans past her to point. "That one over there should look a bit familiar."
She smiles. "Could be the start of something big."
"Just think," he says. "Around most of those stars there'll be planets, and around those planets moons, and someday you'll even get those ridiculous little artificial satellites. And on one of these silly little planets, someone will invent something utterly pointless, mindless, stupid. But it'll be unique; the only one out of everything."
"Infinite variety," she says with a smile, and takes his hand. "I think I can live with that."
