eponymous_rose: (DW | K9 Notes Your Silliness)
Because I had one of those days that ended in unexpected awesome, I figured I'd try to return the favour. What follows is a bunch of random stuff, grabbed from tumblr (not hotlinked, of course, and with credit, of course, so you can trace it to its awesome, awesome source!). Basically, think of it as a massive reblog. It should be noted that my approach to tumblr, until recently, has been to (a) look at it in abject confusion and (b) be too embarrassed to ask someone how to make the pretty pictures appear on my computer screen. My dramatic discovery of the search box will doubtless make all the history books.

Since there are approximately twenty quadrizillion amazing Doctor Who images on tumblr, I thought I'd stick to some of my smaller fandoms (weighted a little more heavily on the DS9/B5 side of things), give 'em a bit of love. The images are whatever happens to catch my eye in the next hour or so. There may be spoilers. There will definitely be awesome.

(gifs under the cut - dial-up users beware!)

Random fannish picspam, awaaaay! )

Okay, that's probably enough silliness for now. Back to your regularly-scheduled Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Or, if you're a time-traveller, October.

I'm in that dread frame of mind where I'd love to write but have next to no ideas. I come to you, O flist/circle/random passersby, for help in my time of need!

If you leave me a prompt, a character (or several characters), and a fandom (just one for now - I may do a crossover extravaganza at some point, but it won't be today), I will try to write you something. Knowing me, it'll be gen, rated at or below PG-13. Fandoms? Just to change things up, let's say DS9, TNG, Warehouse 13 and... Middleman.

Thank you! ♥
eponymous_rose: (MM | Middleman!)
Okay, so I have a more substantial fannish post coming shortly, but I'm just watching the SDCC table read of the unaired thirteenth episode of The Middleman and they totally just referenced Manos: The Hands of Fate. LOWERCASE LETTERS CANNOT EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR THIS SHOW.

That is all.

(If you haven't seen it yet, the amazing [livejournal.com profile] taraljc has made it available over here.)

Edit: Holy unexpected First Doctor reference, Batman!

Okay, so you guys are pretty much the most amazing group of people ever. You know that, right?

Now I must rec! Apart from the spectacular icons that I have linked hereabouts, I received a spectacular assortment of fic:

- [livejournal.com profile] tigerkat24 took one of my very favourite eras of Doctor Who (Third Doctor, hurrah, since it features the 70s and a lot of running around!) and determined exactly what comes afterwards, when Liz, Jo, and Sarah Jane get to talking. Awesome.

- [livejournal.com profile] amaresu wrote a lovely little Doctor/Cameca piece that made me squee, verily. I love my obscure Doctor Who, I do! (Cameca/Doctor is the original (and canon!) OTP, guys. Accept no substitutes! Monochrome forever!)

- [livejournal.com profile] netgirl_y2k brought my two favourite fannish Donnas together, for an exponential increase of AWESOME. Together, they will clearly rule the world.

- [livejournal.com profile] lilacsigil wrote The Cacophonic Casket Catastrophe (part two is here), which is an absolutely perfect mini-missing-episode of The Middleman and features the exclamation "Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor!" It is spectacular.

- [livejournal.com profile] elliptic_eye wrote Three-Voice Canon on the Fourth, which is an inexpressibly silly and clever and wonderful rip-off pastiche of Gödel, Escher, Bach, featuring the Fourth Doctor, Leela, and the Tortoise. And lo, there are puns, and so I am squeeful beyond measure.

- [livejournal.com profile] cosmic_celery wrote Excerpts from the Relatively Sequential Diary of Perpugilliam Brown (part two is here), which neatly bridges the gap between the Fifth Doctor's television era and the Erimem audios, and provides a nice glimpse of closure, too (as much as you can ever get with the Doctor, anyway). Really lovely!

- [livejournal.com profile] agapi42 took a look at a little moment of melancholy after The Christmas Invasion, and it's absolutely breathtaking. Packs a real punch in very few words - spectacular writing. :D

- [livejournal.com profile] imsane_honest wrote Boxes and Shrubbery (part two is here), which is an absolutely hilarious script-formatted crossover between Doctor Who and The Middleman. The voices are just bang-on, and it is amusing and witty, and oh my goodness it's fun!

- [livejournal.com profile] primsong put everybody's favourite Scots from Doctor Who and TOS in a (console) room together. It is absolutely, wonderfully hilarious.

Anyway, that was an amazing experience, and I'm definitely looking forward to next year! :D

Now go tell these people how awesome they are!

Not the end of the year yet, but others have been posting, and I am getting antsy. So, even if I wind up posting more fic before the New Year (which I will, since I have at least one fic that's just holding out for a beta, hurrah!), have a meme!

Hey, I did it last year, too!

And, yeah, I was a little more prolific this year. )

And how about you guys? Which fics worked for you? Which didn't? What would you like to see more of in the new year?

Ghosts of the Living!

("Is that one of your snappy exclamations, or are you just defining what we’re up against?"
"A little of both, I suppose."
)

when you see this, post a random quicky MM exclamation in your lj.
