I think the Doctor Who fandom is about to spontaneously combust re: that new spoiler.

Me? Cautiously optimistic? Maybe? I really don't know!

EDIT: Since I know a couple of people who're trying to remain unspoiled on this one - fair warning! Comments contain spoilers!

I really think I may end up de-friending some of the comms. Bashing and flaming and ship wars are really some of my most hated things about anything, let alone fandom.

Argh, yes. The bashing's been mostly one-sided at the moment (*winces*), but I think pretty soon things are going to start to look ugly for everyone involved. *winces again* (One of the main reasons I was hesitant about this is that I've run across a couple of - very non-representative, I know - Rose fans who were in the habit of viciously bashing every other female character on the show, ever. It's hard not to worry that'll start happening again, and vice-versa with the everyone pointlessly hating on Rose. *le sigh*)

But, y'know, the more I think about it, the less ambivalent I feel. :) I don't believe that fandom is particularly srs business, and I think it could definitely be loads of fun!

*scurries off to write more Rose!fic and Martha!fic and weird Sherlock-Holmes!Doctor fic*

Also! I thought that I should cheer things up after all this bashing and whatnot.

TOTALLY RANDOM ROSE/DOCTOR FIC REC TIME! *random fanfare* I keep meaning to pass these your way: anything by rosa_acicularis, of course, and icebluenothing (http://icebluenothing.livejournal.com/tag/fanfic) is a recent favourite of mine. Both of those authors? Absolutely amazing. :D
