Drabble. Doctor Who. Lost at Sea.

We-ell, I finished watching "Army of Ghosts" and "Doomsday" and, it being 2 AM and all, felt decidedly poetic.  Thoroughly convinced that I'm more clever than I actually am at this time of the night morning, I scribbled up a drabble for another challenge over at dw100.  In five minutes.  *wince*   The challenge phrase was "lost at sea".  Because we all have a little "Doomsday" angst to get out of our systems, right?  Apologies to T.S. Eliot.

Happy Victoria Day!

Well, all attempts at a good night's sleep were thwarted by an early-morning call from the restaurant I worked at last summer.  Despite my paranoia, they weren't calling for me - one of my roommates had applied for a job there.  Phew.  No more kitchens, kthnx.

On the plus side, I've got work tomorrow, so I'll be forced to go to sleep early-ish.  Huzzah!

If the bus company ever stops putting me on eternal hold, I'll book a ticket back to my parents' place for the brother's grad.  Seriously, what kind of company puts you on hold when they're closed?

Of course, they do give you free bags of cookies on the bus.  I'll forgive anything for cookies.

So there you have it!

I went to the library today to study music history.  Afterwards, I decided to try and find a practice room, despite the fact that it's a holiday and almost all the university buildings are closed.  Predictably, the door was locked.  A man came up to me and asked me if I was trying to get to my office (?).  I went with the old smile-and-nod trick, and he opened the door for me.  I snuck up to the fourth floor and discovered that someone had forgotten to lock the door to the practice room hallway.  To celebrate, I (very sneakily) played Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata on one of the clunky old out-of-tune pianos.  Good times!
