The Great DS9 Fic Rec Post

Since I know a lot of my flist has been getting into DS9 lately (if you haven't, I have an intro to the show here, and if you're on my flist, this post may be relevant to your interests), I thought I'd put together a rec list of Deep Space Nine fics.

(Okay, so my motives aren't entirely altruistic - in hunting for additions to this list, I found a bunch of fics that I hadn't read before, which is always a good thing.)



Note: I haven't read all of these, or even most of them. These have been compiled from other people's rec lists, though some of my own favourites are included. In that spirit, if you have a favourite fic (or thirty favourite fics!) I'm missing, let me know and I'll add them to the list! I feel like I've been spamming ds9agogo lately, so I won't be cross-posting this, but if you have friends in the fandom who'd be interested in contributing to this, please point them my way. Please point them my way - I'm looking forward to finding other gems in the fandom!

Likewise, let me know if I've made any mistakes. I'd hate to be mis-attributing something or chucking the wrong pairing on it. I've also gone and recovered versions of a bunch of fics that died with sites like Geocities, but if you know that any of these fics were pulled down intentionally, just let me know and I'll take them off the list. If you're uncomfortable with your fic being linked here for whatever reason, let me know and I'll take it down, no questions asked. This is just meant to be a bit of a resource post, since the fandom's starting to pick up a bit of speed lately.

I wasn't sure what to do with spoilers, since not everyone specifies, but if you'd like to read a certain fic and are spoiler-averse past a certain point, let me know and I'll do my best to let you know whether it's safe or not.

You're missing the awesome:

Letters from the Northern Continent, which is a Garak/Bashir classic.

Beneath the Prophets, an undeservedly forgotten Odo/Kira novella set in the 7th Season. Kai Winn pushes a law to strip protections from non-Bajorans from their constitution. Kira and Odo go down to Bajor to stop her. I love this fic to pieces.
