Nothing drastic - just no big posts until Friday and the end of my history exam of Doom! Uh, with the exception of this one. Which is, of course, me getting it out of my system. So this is me. Getting it out of my system.
Well, that's about it, really. More to come at some point or other! :D Back to the books.
1. Music History - My exam's bright and early on Friday - and, of course, I'm very much looking forward to having it out of the way, pass or fail. :D I suspect that, unless things go way out of control, I'll be able to squeak by, which means finally finishing the ten practical and seven theory course requirements for my Grade 10 certification! Huzzah! I spent most of the weekend reading a textbook and listening to music and giving the Awkward Lecture Series to my parents whenever they'd listen. ("And then, um, Mozart did something clever. Wait, let me check my notes... Yes. Fairly clever.") Fun stuff! Alas, this means that I've been doing my absent-minded professor routine, which has thus far involved leaving the stove on at lunchtime and occasionally washing the dishes twice, to the continued annoyance of my roommates. Eek!
2. Ficliness! - Yes, the next chapter of Wanderer Fantasy's gonna be posted shortly (and shouldn't take so long in future *crosses fingers*). I'm planning on taking the vast majority of this coming week to just sit back and write! Also, the ficathon fic's coming along, though I get the impression I'm over-complicating matters. Oh. Also. Sometimes crack!fic just comes barrelling out of nowhere and does very unpleasant things to your plot bunnies. So I'll have yet another project on the go, which, due to its cracktastic nature, fits very nicely with the Eighth Doctor and Fitz and Anji. And then there are the (at least) two Sherlock Holmes projects - these five things are my priorities for next week! Veddy excited about writing 'em, as evidenced by my thrilled little army of smilies. :D:D:D
3. Work - things are slowing down here, since I've only got a few days left (I finish on the 17th, but may even take that day off to do some packing). But I've made some pretty pictures and messed around with various causal links, which is always fun! But my office is presently under construction, which means that I occasionally have to shift my computer and desk away from walls that suddenly aren't. And cover my ears a lot.
4. Holmesian Public Domain OTR Uploads - these'll be pushed back until the weekend, but I may do a bit of uploading while studying. You never know! :D
5. Fandom - Despite my busyness (business? busiosity? busyoramalama?), I've managed to get through another EDA - "Sometime Never..." - which was very good despite making my brain explode (or perhaps because of that). On a related note, I've given up trying to see the Doctor's timeline as linear - or even circular. It's a freakin' Mobius strip. Which reminds me: I need to start making those again, because I've already forgotten what happens when you chop 'em up lengthwise four times. Once: you get a bigger Mobius strip. Twice: you get two Mobius strips, interlocked. Three times: you get two bigger Mobius strips, interlocked. But I forget whether you get a chain or just a bundle of interlocked Mobius strips the fourth time. *hangs head in shame*
6. States trip! - Heading out on the eighteenth for Iowa, which should be a lot of fun. Hoping to see some good stuff en route, but a lot of it depends on how far we get each day. And I need to start thinking of big-sisterly advice now, don't I? Uh-oh.

Date: 2007-08-07 10:27 pm (UTC)2. FICLINESS! *dies in an explosion of squee*
3. The randomly disappearing walls would be a tad disconcerting, wouldn't they?
5. Busyoramalama, for sure.
6. In regards to sisterly advice, I suggest you throw something in about personal hygiene. There's an epidemic among college students of extreme stinkiness. Millions have been lost to this horrid condition, and it would be a small relief to know that your brother won't be among their number... *wink*

Date: 2007-08-07 10:45 pm (UTC)Also: yay force! It shall be with me! *attempts to write practice exam blindfolded* Haydn! The Florentine Camerata! Um. Um. Um. MUSIC! *gives up and draws clouds on the page*
3. The disappearance is usually heralded by a bellowed "coming through!" and several loud crashes. I'm not entirely sure I'm supposed to be in here. *eyes door warily* Don't you go anywhere!
6. Heehee! Nah, my brother's pretty dang fussy about his appearance (remember Wilson? With the blowdryer at ohmygod in the morning? My brother.). I believe I can safely assume this'll translate to odour. *grins*
That said, I've formed a mental picture of his super-strict landlord that has him stopping my brother and his roommate every morning and inspecting them to make sure they're suitable for presentation to the public. Heehee. (Of course, said imaginary landlord would also probably make 'em both cut their oh-so-trendy hair. *sporfles*)
Also! I forgot to add a number seven! D: The E-mail of Power will be coming on Friday! Hopefully. Yes. *crosses fingers, making it difficiu,lt to tyupe*
Also also! My condolences on the tragic loss of your bookshelf. *winces*

Date: 2007-08-08 01:43 am (UTC)1. Ouch. Just cruel. Then again, practice tests tend to be cruel in general. It's always been my experience that they are either far too easy or far too hard to actually be an accurate indicator of the test to come. So, with the fact that they torture me so skillfully already in mind, it comes as no surprise to me that they would go after poor Mozart as well... *huggles Mozart... and doesn't try to steal his cookie*
And clouds must be an answer to something on that test. Like the secret answer that will make you pass with 300%! *sage nod* The force, my friend. It shant fail you.
6. You do realize that I'm now going to think that your brother's Wilson, right? In your family portrait, I'm definitely envisioning RSL smiling happily amongst your family. The mental image = brilliant.
... Now this might make me seem like a dork beyond all measure... But that imaginary landlord? His name should be Mr. Filch, and he really needs a cat and a dungeon with which to hang unruly tenants by their thumbs...
Yayz for the Email of Power (no rush!) and many thanks. *sniffle* But hey, if a bookself's got to go, what better way? *grin*

Date: 2007-08-09 02:28 pm (UTC)And re: my brother being Wilson. Hm. Well, the hair's vaguely similar to first-season Wilson. And then there's the nose. And the eyebrows, a bit.
...this is playing merry havoc with my Wilson!crush! *head explodes*
There, all better. *nodnod*
And YES to Mr. Filch landlord. I'll mention that to my parents; they'll probably like the idea. *grins*
And yes! 'Tis far better for a bookshelf to have held books and collapsed, than never to have held books at all. *ish profound*
