Stargate Vid Recs!

A few minutes late, here, for advent calendar-y goodness!

Since I'm still planning stuff for finals, something simple: SG1 vid recs! I bet everyone who cares has seen these a million times before, but hey, they're fun to revisit. (I also really welcome any recs you might have on hand, for this or Atlantis, because I'm on a bit of a fanvid kick lately! These are kinda J/D heavy, because those were the rec lists I came across, but I'd really love vids for any pairing at all - or gen, of course.) I'm also being a little vague in my comments because I know a couple people on the flist are still avoiding spoilers for various and sundry parts of the show.

Solsbury Hill by Shalott
This one follows Daniel through the first five seasons of the show, from a real pre-season six/seven/etc. perspective (it premiered at Vividcon '02) - the lyrics match up extremely well, which I hadn't expected, and there are several segments of storytelling that are just fantastically well done. The "had to listen - had no choice" bit hooks me every time.

Be Like Water by butterfly
...yeah, I'm sure every Jack/Daniel shipper out there has seen this one before, because it's amazing. The first time I watched it, I liked it well enough, but every single time I've rewatched, I've caught something new with the timing. I mean, there are clips where the blinks are synchronized with the beat. This is a none-too-fluffy look at the Jack/Daniel ship throughout the series, and it feels painfully real.

Because sometimes you just need some fluff! Jack/Daniel cuteness through the ages: talking in unison, adjusting glasses, bickering, bickering, bickering, and so on and so forth. Lots of fun.

End of the World by Ana
Much as I'm mostly in it for the quirky and irreverent humour, SG1 and Atlantis do pull off some pretty sweeping, epic stuff. This is a fast-paced action vid (SG1/Atlantis crossover) that rolls right through some of the more desperate bits of SG1 - mostly from later seasons - and Atlantis - mostly from earlier seasons - and it definitely manages to keep up its momentum throughout.

Oooh, vids I love.

Darcy's vids. She and iiionly have made a lot of team vids. My favorite ones are "Let the River Run" which is just sweet team adventure of classic team if I recall correctly and "Rolling Stone"--which is a quirky crack vid complete with "Rolling Stone" SGC articles (up through Season Ten for spoilerphobes).

The Alpha Site is where brihana25 has all her vids and she does a lot of diverse ones. My personal favorites are "Sibling Rivalry"--a Daniel whumping Vid with a cracky plotline and "Eight Years On" celebrating Classic Team's adventures to the "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel.

Another Danielwhump vid is Tubthumping by cherrybrandy. I think she uses different knock downs every single time.

Don't Give Up by cleothemuse. Sweet and slow teamy h/c vid.

SG-1 Goes to the Movies by buefo (can watch streaming or d/l). Montage of movie scores with teamy goodness for 8 seasons (slight Daniel bias).

Wake Up Call by scifi_tv_addict. It's crackship vid of Teal'c's reactions to men coming onto "his women" (like Sam and Vala). HILARIOUS!

I love the world by dragonfly and nibbiko. Teamy goodness of SGA and SG-1 to the "Discovery Boom-de-yada song" (It is TRAGIC nibikko has since taken down her vids that I can't link you to more, but dragonfly is fun to explore too).

You already saw callygal1's group of embedded Daniel links, yes?

And last but DEFINITELY not least is High School Never Ends on youtube by MilenaDaniels. This is mostly SG-1 but also SGA, all seasons. I *dare* you not to be smiling and/or laughing by the end of this vid. Just hilarious.

Wow, thank you so much! I've seen a couple of these, but a lot of them that are totally new to me. These will make fantastic little breaks between studying sessions! ♥

I saw this post this morning and then had to wait all day to download them after work. But now I am!
