Everyone is smiling and the streets are full of people and it's slushy and, my goodness, it turns out the sky really isn't that awful grey colour underneath! :D
It hit -50C last year! Absolutely miserable. How on earth anyone could've survived here back in the Old Days, without modern technology, I don't know.
I tend to get grumpy and complain a lot when the temperature's any higher than 20C or any lower than -20C, which means I'm living on the wrong part of the globe. ;)
...I complain a lot, but it is actually kind of neat, because past a certain point, it's hard to tell whether exposed skin is burning or freezing. Also, it's really, really hard to breathe when you first step outside. And car exhaust just sort of... hangs there (intersections are completely fogged up). Very surreal!
I'd rather have moderate temperatures year-round than these crazy extremes, I think!
It seems like things have heated up a bit, finally (our normal high for this time of year is about -7C, but we've hardly surpassed -20C yet). Just so I don't have to wait for the bus in that weather! ;)
