Possibly the strangest internet-type bug I've ever had...

Simply put? My internet only works if my screen is asleep. I've got a download going, so I can tell that when I just leave it be for a while, it starts up again, but as soon as I so much as twitch the mouse, the speed plunges straight down to zero, my Mail program complains that it's lost connectivity, and the internet in general gives up the ghost.

(There's a joke in here somewhere about quantum theory!)

I know it's not my parents' modem, because here I am on my dad's MacBook Air without any ill effects. It is kind of hilarious, though. I'm not overly concerned because I'm heading back to my own apartment (and my own sweet ethernet) in a few hours, but it's still a bit annoying. Anyone ever experience something like this?

Well, since you're not too concerned about it, yeah, that's hilarious. I can't see the logic in it at all. I can see the quantum theory joke. It is also hilarious.
