Good News/Bad News
Jul. 5th, 2007 09:51 pmGood news: I'm no longer sick! I finally got to use my eggplant recipe and it was delicious! I dragged myself out of the condo for three hours of fencing goodness (though somebody did steal our Good Try Sportsmanship Happy-Face Stamp of Power, so we were all making a special effort to be poor sports)!
Bad news: It's currently 34.2 degrees Celsius in my room. Generally, I prefer it to be below 22 degrees when I go to sleep. *whimper* I'm gonna dump a glass of water over my head before bed and turn the fan on high, right in my face. Ick. (Bad thing with our topsy-turvy climate - the few days when it does get nice and summery and warm, we haven't a clue what to do. AC? What is this thing of which you speak?)

Date: 2007-07-06 03:51 pm (UTC)Y'know, we were in Europe a couple years ago, during that killer heatwave. I don't think it got up beyond about 45 when we were there! *eyes California warily* Mind you, the hotel we stayed at in Frankfurt had just opened after having been shut down for two weeks (so all the windows and doors were closed for the two hot weeks preceding our arrival - how considerate!) and there was no AC. The fridge couldn't keep food cold - and the tap only ran hot water. *cries*
Your plan for frolicking sounds marvelous and magical, but there's one teensy-tiny flaw. *points to previous entries re: my falling down a flight of stairs* I'm a klutz.
*evil grin* But as long as you don't mind losing a few limbs?
Oh, and good to hear about the moving of the fic deadline! *dances*
(Also: I totally read "betaness" as "beatness". I don't know what that is, but it sounds like something I want to have. *strikes a pose*)

Well, sorta. It's his hand! His hand, dangit!

Date: 2007-07-06 06:52 pm (UTC)A hand of Nine! *points* *jumps up and down* *explodes*
Erm. I mean, what?
Wow. That stint in Europe must have been... Interesting? I can't even imagine what we'd do if the water didn't cool properly... Well, that's a lie. I know what I'd do.
Die. *nodnod*
As for the klutz issue.... *ponders* Oh, I know! Hire someone to toss me and catch me!
Or, you know. Agree to take care of me when I don't have any arms and legs.
(And beatness! You can be a beat poet! Lots of snapping and reading Jack Kerouac. You can pull that off, right? *grin*)

Date: 2007-07-06 07:12 pm (UTC)OR DID WE? *dramatic music*
...nah, pretty sure we didn't. Unless we just didn't notice. *nervous* I hope they have a good zombie part for my brother in the choir, just in case.
Oh, and speaking of not noticing you're dead - I've been re-listening to some of the earlier Big Finish audios, and just came across "The Chimes of Midnight" again. It's absolutely brilliant, and I think it might be my favourite of the lot. Which, I guess, further proves my inability to resist Christmas episodes. *hangs head* I'm getting predictable. But it's so delightfully surreal!
*snaps* Oh, I've got it covered. *snaps more and looks around for a beret to don*
