So!  Time for another randomly-maybe-sorta-number update!  Thing!

Number 0: I still have way too much energy for my own good.  For a few seconds yesterday, I was worried that it had worn off.  And then I got all excited over seeing a tiger lily (I pass the same garden every day and I've just been waiting for one of them to open).  I'm whistling a lot and humming and whatnot.  I think it might be to the point where I'm gonna terrify my parents when I see them tomorrow after however many weeks it's been.  Heehee.

Number STOPITRTD: Seriously.  I've had "Voodoo Child" on perma-loop in my head since Saturday.  At some point I decided it would be clever to add it to my iPod.  It's never going away, is it?  On the plus side, I've started doing the four-beat drumming thing at meetings.  Nobody's noticed yet, alas. Maybe I should take a less subtle approach and ask if they've considered voting Saxon lately...

I love trying to convert people to Doctor Who.  There is, and I've said this before, absolutely no way to recommend the show in any kind of detail and still sound sane at the end of the conversation.  "Oh, Doctor Who?  That's show's really great!  Well, basically, it's about... um.  An alien in a time-travelling police box."

Don't even try to get into explaining Jack.  Or fandom, for that matter.

Number 1: Okay, real update.  I've decided to hold off on the Who!fic until the season finale on Saturday.  I'm pretty sure RTD's messed with the timeline enough that there's no hope that I can make this in the least bit canon-compatible, but I can dream, can't I?  It's getting written regardless, slowly but surely.

Number 2: I finally got new shoes!  The girl at the store offered to burn my old ones.  They weren't that bad, really!  *huggles shoes... at arm's length*  So, yes.  Converse.  I'm a geek.  But they're BLOO!  (Not sparkly, alas.)

Number 3: Tomorrow is my Friday - I'm leaving work early and meeting my parents after their, uh, meetings.  And I get to see my schmoogle-kitties!  Yay!  (Let it be said that our adoptive cat here at the condo is about as un-schmooglable as it's possible for a cat to get.  Still floofy, though.)

Number 4: I've noticed a terrifying upward trend in the number of nonsense words I use when I get anywhere near a cat.

Number 5: I haven't, however, noticed any sort of upward trend in any of the graphs I've made at work lately. That's not very good, so I'm experimenting with different sorts of graphing techniques.  Because maybe if I look at it sideways and squint there'll be a correlation.  Yes.

Number 6: The other day, someone burst out laughing when I told them my age.  At some point, I made the transition from looking-younger-than-I-am to looking-older-so-it's-apparently-funny.  It's probably the spiffy sorta-denim suit.  Or the long hair.  WHICH I WILL BE CUTTING TOMORROW!  Well, not me, personally.  Because that would... yeah.  Not pretty.  But I might get bangs.  I can't remember the last time I had bangs.  I'm not actually sure there was a last time, if you don't count the two-inch-long hairstyle I had in high school (didn't work very well, alas).  I'm excited about the haircut thing, though - I love looking in the mirror and not quite recognizing myself.  It's freaky.

Number 7: Missing fencing tonight to go to a family BBQ.  Alas, I found out about it right before a meeting today and had to RSVP en route, which meant that my phone started to run out of batteries, I dropped my papers all over the ground, ran into one of my professors (almost literally) and was just about late.  But yay!  Free food!

Number 7.5: Yes, I'm still uploading those Sherlock Holmes OTR things.  I keep messing up the archives and burning them to various CDs and forgetting about them, but they're almost all rounded up.  Hopefully this weekend, if the interwebs aren't dead.

Number 8: There're these new kinds of Skittles I've found in a couple of stores - some special limited edition thing, in a black wrapper.  Anyway, there's a liquorice-flavoured Skittle!  Awesome.  Just, uh, wanted to share.

Number 9: Number 9?  Number 9?  Number 9?

Number 10: Hit a bit of a snag on my Beethoven sonata, but I think I've sorted it out.  Um.  Yeah.  Exciting, that.

Number 11: I think I should've stopped writing this a while back.  Just getting less and less exciting.  So what else is new?  Oh!  Wait!  Weird Al's coming to Capital EX!  Woot!  Um.  And there'll be a butterfly exhibition.  I'm a nut for those.  And candy, which is always good.  And ridiculously dangerous rides, as with any good fair.  I always head straight for those extreme-drop things, but they're never particularly exciting, just vaguely sick-making.  I'm actually not particularly interested in the rides this year.  Weird.  But candy!

Number 12: I've managed to save up some frivolous-spending money from birthdays and spare change and whatnot, so I'm hoping to buy an external hard drive for my laptop this weekend.  And maybe something else in the way of gadgetry.  I dunno yet.  It might be time for new headphones...

Number 13: I think I'll do some really insane biking this weekend.

Okay.  I'm stopping.  Run out of interesting things to say.

Wait, one more interesting thing to say: "Kerplazooie!"  Seriously, try it.  It's interesting as all-get-out.

Also: my "giggly" mood actually makes me giggly when I watch it.  It's just so point-and-laugh and the Doctor's all "OMGMORTALDANGER... bzuh?  What?  What?"  I'm gonna watch that episode again tonight, I think.  It always appeases my inner Buffy!geek, anyway. :D

This is hilarious. As a Brit I have never in my life had to explain Doctor Who to anyone. Ever.

Heehee - I definitely envy you that. Most people just sort of give me the you're-crazy look instead of humouring me and watching a couple of episodes (in which case I know they'd be hooked). It's just such an iconic part of Brit pop culture - and while I do admit to having vague Dalek-shaped little-kid memories (I suspect my Dad may have watched a few episodes way back when), a big lure of the show was its complete, well, alien-ness to me. Something totally new and weird. I love weird.

Yay for the Who!fic writing, the new shoes *jigs*, and Weird Al! Oh my, what a combo.

And now! Random drive-by linkage!

Remember how you love Harry? (People can forget these things from time to time!)

Cute!Harry (etc.)

Also: Doctor's Girls and Doctor's Boys Hehe!

(And if you've already looked at these... Erm... *runs away*)

Oh, I came across those yesterday - SO MUCH WIN!

Okay, so I did temporarily forget about my random Harry!crush. Don't tell anyone. :(

So, by a series of unfortunate events, I am pulling another all-nighter and your entry is totally like WUZAHHHHH!OU#)UJLSDOOOOMMMGZ! on my brain.

That is a very good thing.

Hee. *hug*

Yea... alien in a time-traveling police box. One would never know what one was missing.

Heehee! I have to say, my entries very rarely produce WUZAHHHHH!OU#)UJLSDOOOOMMMGZ!age! :D

That said, all-nighters? Not so much fun! *wince*

The girl at the store was all: "Are you sure you want... blue?"

And something in the way she said it reminded me of the BLOO SPARKLY, and I just burst out laughing. :D

Did you notice that the four-beat tap is in the Doctor Who theme song? Maybe that's why people keep watching the show, even though it is TOTAL CRACK and works on the power of bullshit.
...then again. Maybe they don't need the hypnotism.

Perfect! I can get the both of you in one mighty comment of wonderment and powah!

*insert trumpets... or drums, but that's just too creepy given recent episodes (even if they are TOTAL CRACK)* I sense bitterness. Why no love for the drums? And the Master and his craziness? What's (Oh, and John Simm? How do you not adore John Simm?!?!)

Anywho... Point being, I have drive-by linkage for both of you: Freema on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show, 27 June 2007.

It's brilliant, I promise. Just listen until the end.

So much love for John Simm! The campy little wave and the silliness, gah, he's awesome.
Also. One should not watch Goblet of Fire if one is a total David Tennant fangirl. One will spend the entire time cooing over David Tennant, saying, "Work that leather, baby!" and shrieking with incoherent glee when he starts flicking his tongue out like a snake.

You have no idea how long I've been wanting to re-watch that movie, now aware of the DT awesome. Of course, it's the one HP movie that my mother doesn't own, and as such I've begun a quest of horror throughout my entire friend/family network looking for it. The result? I'm now going to force my younger cousin to re-watch the thing for the nth time, just so I can see it. She's 11. Some might call this pathetic, but I call it dedicated fangirliness. (On that note, should be getting another CE flick within the next few days... I'll keep you posted. (Also, I'm making you watch The Second Coming ASAP come Aug.))

Oh, I need to watch Goblet of Fire again. I already devoured Blackpool (and was, of course, 100% cool and composed during the famous ice cream-eating scene. And the cotton candy. Yes. Cool and composed and not at all giggly.).

Also, I just want to freak out my roommates by squeeing randomly over Tennant. :D

Thanks for the link! That was such an adorable/insanely amusing interview! :D

Freema/casting director OTP!

But the call from "Derek" was just priceless. *dies*

Yes, that's very true! I think it's as good an explanation as any for fandom, anyhoo!

(Being hypnotised has never been so much fun! Never, I say!)
