"I am not a god," he tells her, and though she can accept dimensional transcendentalism, she can't accept that.

As he turns, grasping at the memories of Earth in 2164 and the way he'd said goodbye then, he catches sight of Steven, pale and bleeding and delirious, and the whole world is flying around him, rapid, evolving, changing while he hovers in the midst of it all. Sometimes Gallifrey is distant in his thoughts; now he wonders if he is becoming what he feared, dreaded, escaped.

"I am not a god," he says again, and this time she believes him.

Wow. In my mind I could see and hear the change of his expression and tone, that would have convinced her. That was a brilliant little piece!
