From the moment you were caught in the turbulent whorls of your own crosswise infinity, you forfeited the right to progress, to evolve. Your race stood in the long-forgotten ashes of decay, alive but never content in living.
You changed, and splintered the shackles of eternity.
Alone, we are the slaves of Time, ignorant of the freedom that’s always been within reach. Snatched from the gaping maw of life, you’ve drawn death around your shoulders, a cloak too heavy for the night.
And, though touch has long since faded from our vocabulary, your hand is still in mine.
