Jacket!squee
May. 20th, 2007 10:24 pmI haven't been this excited about buying clothes since...
Wait.
When was the last time I bought clothes? It's been at least several years. I'm not much for, y'know, shopping and such. I have virtually the same wardrobe as I did all through high school. And, um, middle school.
But I went back to the vintage clothes store and there was a fancy-schmancy rainjacket staring back at me. I figured that if it was less than fifty dollars, it could (might) be worthwhile, considering I've had the same silly purple coat for the last seven years. It was twenty dollars.
It's long (calf-length) and beige and has a really weird big ol' collar at the back, but I like it. And it has pockets. Pockets are good.
I get the impression that it's going to become one of those rare articles of clothing that I just can't do without. The last one was my big blue housecoat, which my Mom has actually threatened to burn after the five-plus years I moped around the house in it. I, of course, rescued the poor thing and brought it up here.
So, yes. Now I've got a proper rainjacket and umbrella - no self-respecting meteorologist should be without either of those articles!
Been having very bizarre (and very frequent) nightmares lately. Generally, this means that I'm sleeping too much or too little. It could also have to do with the fact that I live on a six-lane street and thus hear some pretty... unique noises at night. All the same, I'd rather not dream of avocados or the height of the ceiling at Safeway, thanks. Give me the good ol' dreamless and I'll be happy!
(My dad, of course, takes the cake with his terrible nightmares of cooking rice pudding. He loves rice pudding. I don't know what that's all about.)
Gonna rewatch Army of Ghosts/Doomsday tonight, because I'm a bit of a masochist that way. Popcorn - check. Tissues - check. Sanity-
Sanity?
Oh, dang. Knew I was missing something.
