To be more specific, it's that time where I list my works-in-progress so that I don't, y'know, forget about anything. :D

The Meme: Post your current works-in-progress/hypothetical projects, along with a brief summary and approximately how far along you are. The idea is to remind yourself of old projects, to inspire yourself with newer ones, and to provide the opportunity for people to comment on/offer to beta/eagerly anticipate the finished product!

Doctor Who (Third Doctor's Era) | What the Thunder said (about 45% of the 10,000 words completed): This one came totally out of nowhere and it is not letting me go. Based, of course, on some T.S. Eliot verses, the premise is simple enough: after the successful abortion of the Inferno Project, everyone heads out to the pub to celebrate - but it's a celebration tinged with more than a bit of horrified desperation, particularly for the Doctor and Liz. It's intercut with scenes from the Inferno!universe, and will hopefully deal with the idea of Liz's resignation from UNIT before it's through. Oh, and there's some alt!Liz/Brig stuff. Me, write non-gen? The horror!

Doctor Who (Tenth Doctor's Era) | The Wanderer Fantasy (Chapter Four: about 90% of the 4,000 words completed): This should not take me more than a few hours to finish! I really need to get cracking on this fic again. Tell you what - until I've got a good updating rhythm on this (that's not, say, a chapter every two months), I will not sign up for any more ficathons! In this chapter, there are plenty of amusing boardgames, a few cases of mistaken identity, and some other things that are probably very clever wherein the plot makes a fleeting appearance!

Doctor Who/Sherlock Holmes Crossover | The Empty Planet (working title) (about 0.01% of the minimum 20,000 words completed): Ahem. Yes, I keep going back and forth on this one. If you go based on what [livejournal.com profile] mad_march_hare and I have concocted over AIM? The thing's practically finished! *grins* Really, though, I've got a pretty good idea as to the structure I'd like, and it's just a matter of actually sitting down and starting it. Which I should, y'know, do at some point. This being for a ficathon and all. Without giving too much away, it's a Doctor Who-flavoured retelling of "The Empty House". Watson meets an old bookseller who's much more than he seems (and then, as it happens, much more than that); Ronald Adair is murdered behind a locked door in impossible circumstances; and Fitz Kreiner, rather against his will, returns to a place of safety - which just happens to be 221B Baker Street. Chaos ensues.

Assorted Fandoms: I've got about a half-dozen drabbles that people requested ages ago that I keep forgetting to post. Should do that at some point!

Doctor Who (Tenth Doctor/Ninth Doctor/Eighth Doctor's era) | Eurydice Lost (haven't a clue how far along I am): This is one that was supposed to be for a ficathon ages and ages ago (*ducks head*), but wound up taking on a life of its own, owing to a running metaphor that got stuck in my head. I think it may be a bit on the overambitious side, so I'm trying to tone it down (thus the undetermined word count). Involves the Time War, which I'm not sure I even can write about convincingly! So this one's on the backburner. For now!

Doctor Who (Third Doctor's era/pre-Tenth Doctor's era) | Historical Inaccuracy (working title) (about 25% of the 2,000 words completed): When Delgado!Master met Martha Jones. Not as crackish as it seems! Following his humiliation at the end of "The Time Monster", the Master is forced to materialise his damaged TARDIS on Earth in the year 1998, where he learns a bit about what it means to be a doctor. [livejournal.com profile] elliptic_eye, I'ma gonna try to get this one done for you! Soon! It's nearly the shortest fic on my to-do list at the moment, so that's a good incentive. ;)

Doctor Who (Third Doctor's era) | Venusian Lullaby (over-sappy working title) (about 99% of the 1,000 words completed): It's Brig!fic, my friends! Fic that is about the Brig! The Brigadier is utterly fearless in the face of the unknown, and yet he dreams of precipices and falling and forever. Deals a bit with his none-too-happy family and the issues that result. It's waaay too overdramatic to be palatable at the moment. Someday I'll get around to polishing it up!

Future projects (hush, I've been watching DT's video diaries):
Ye Olde Untitled Christmas Fic: a bit of fluff for the Ninth Doctor and the TARDIS, wherein the only time all is lost is when you don't know where to look.

Ye Olde Untitled Action/Adventure Fic: the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and Harry Sullivan. Together, they fight crime! (How's that for a pitch, then, eh? Eh?)

Ye Olde Untitled If-I-Have-Time-I'll-Write-It Fluff Fic: the Fourth Doctor and Romana ring in the New Year by thwarting an alien invasion of Earth. Well. An alien invasion that doesn't originate from Gallifrey and arrive in a police box, anyway.

Just out of curiosity:
Words of fic posted on this journal since May 5th, 2007: 31,058!
Longest fic: 5,714 (Chapter 2 of The Wanderer Fantasy)
Shortest fic: 50 (any of a number of demidrabbles)

Productive year! And that's disregarding the billions of half-formed ideas cluttering up my hard drive. :D

Yay! :D I hadn't known the premise before, so now I'm even more intrigued.
