Hey, Canadian flist!
May. 2nd, 2011 07:13 amDon't forget to vote in the federal election today! Even if you're not registered to vote in your riding, as long as you show up with e.g., a student ID and a copy of your lease/electricity bill (anything with your name/picture, and anything with your address) at your polling station, you're good to go. It's gonna be an exciting one - ThreeHundredEight.com is predicting a Conservative minority with the NDP as the Official Opposition (they're calling for the NDP to almost double their previous best number of seats in the House). There's also a cool list of the 50 ridings to watch. Ahaha, Alberta. My old riding would be the only contested one in the province.
Even if you're opposed to all the major parties, every vote for the less mainstream parties gives them a bit more credibility and funding. So, hey! Go with friends! Join a vote mob! Make it an event!
