Internets and ficlets!
Sep. 4th, 2010 01:02 pmHaving apparently jinxed the free internet thing last time, I've been without internet at home ever since - but now I'm up and running!
In honor of being all settled in and such, I think I might just borrow an awesome project that
kindkit does every now and then (with awesome results - go see!): the ficlet project!
The idea is that I make a post like this one, and the first commenter gives me one fandom (no crossovers on this one), a character or two, and a brief prompt (but please, nothing too specific or detailed). I write a quick little ficlet based on that prompt, and then the first commenter on that one gets to post another prompt. And, of course, even if you're not interested in the previous fic, you're welcome to comment with just a prompt.
Everyone's welcome to play - you don't have to be on my flist or ever have read any of my stuff. If you come across one of these posts and there's no prompt on it yet, jump in! But to give everyone a chance to play, please just limit yourselves to one prompt per round.
My restrictions: I tend not to write above PG-13, and I do prefer gen, but that doesn't mean I won't write any and all pairings - the fic just won't be particularly explicit. Other than that, prompt away! If there's an issue with your prompt, I'll let you know.
I'm limiting this to fandoms I'm most familiar with at the moment, just because this should be quick. If a fandom's not included, it doesn't mean I've fallen out of love with it. It just means I need a rewatch. ;)
Fandoms in no particular order:
Star Trek (TNG, DS9, XI)
Doctor Who (only the newest series with Eleven and Amy, please - I'm planning a Classic Who rewatch soon)
Sherlock (the new BBC mini-series)
Quantum Leap
Stargate SG-1
Legend
And... there we go! First prompt in the comments will be written.

Date: 2010-09-04 05:56 pm (UTC)That said! WELCOME TO MONTREAL! I saw your last post and it sounds cramazing. Has it remained so? How is your life in your new home? How is school? Did you decide on the PhD candidacy thing? TELL ME ALL!
I am in Stockton with Awesome Roommate v. 2.0 (who is v. 2.0 only by default because Myranda beat her to the Awesome Roommate v. 1.0 slot, and I think we can all agree that Myranda deserves an Awesome Roommate slot), and Netflix, and I have been doing nothing but editing and watching 30 Rock all week. Also, I applied for four jobs on Friday and I think I walked away with three interviews. O.o THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, THE ECONOMY IS SUCK. I don't even know. Oh! Oh! And I have an account with a credit union now because banks are full of suck and I am so done with them I can't even. And my dad was here and will be here a lot because his girlfriend lives an hour and a half away, so I will see him often. And San Francisco is also an hour and a half away. San Francisco is awesome and as soon as I have regular money I will go there on some weekends. And I got The Book Thief for five dollars. It's an awesome book, you should read it.
