In return for all the great stuff you guys have been reccing me lately, have a list of awesome fanvids I've come across in the Stargate: Atlantis fandom, which has a lot of extremely impressive stuff to offer, dontcha know.

Title: I am/Lamb
Song: The Mercy Seat (Johnny Cash)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] lim
Characters: Sheppard-centric
Link: Streaming and download here.

If you haven't come across any of [livejournal.com profile] lim's vids in your fannish travels, you're really in for a treat - [livejournal.com profile] lim does the most meticulous job of editing I've ever come across. (Do check out the multifandom "Us", by the way.)

I picked this one out of the various and sundry SGA vids on display because it's the one that first jumped out at me, really. About half the people I rec it to can't see it well enough on their screens, but believe me, it's worth a shot, even if you have no interest whatsoever in SGA - the editing is just that good. It's darkfic in fanvid form - and hey, it's Johnny Cash. Go watch it.

Title: How to Save a Life
Song: How to Save a Life (The Fray)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] obfreak
Characters: Beckett-centric
Link: Download here and streaming at GateWorld

Confession time: I have a bit of a thing for TV doctors, and Carson Beckett's no exception. This may or may not have to do with that extended McCoy comparison in that season one episode, dangit. Having dipped my toe into this fandom, I'm a little disappointed at the lack of material for him, all things considered, so I was thrilled to come across this vid.

The clip choices are what really set this one apart, though the editing is also excellent - it tells a lot of stories in a very short time, and tells them well. I dare you to watch this video and not feel an irresistible urge to hug Beckett.

Title: Talk Show Host
Song: Talk Show Host (Radiohead)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] hollywoodgrrl
Characters: Sheppard-centric
Link: Download and streaming here.

This vid is based entirely on the first-season two-parter "The Storm"/"The Eye", which was about the point where I stopped multitasking while watching and actually sat down and, you know, watched.

I was a little skeptical coming in to this one, because the song's so laid-back and the episodes are basically one big adrenaline rush, but it works. Man, does it ever. The editing is excellent, though it took me a second viewing to really appreciate the jump-cuts, and the story comes through extremely well on this one.

Title: Changes
Song: Changes (Three Doors Down)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] chayiana
Characters: Sheppard-centric
Link: Download and streaming here.

This is an immensely energetic fanvid that does a flyover of much of the series, and it really manages to show the transition in character/mood/theme that happens as the show progresses. This is a fantastic spotlight on Sheppard.

The editing is flawless, full of new things to notice on each viewing. Really excellent; I'm always surprised when I come across a rec list that doesn't include this one.

Title: Stress
Song: Stress (Jim's Big Ego)
Vidders: Clucking Belles
Characters: McKay-centric!
Link: Download and streaming here.

I think [livejournal.com profile] imsanehonest first got me into this song at some point a couple years back, and, you know, it's not the sort of thing you ever think someone will manage to turn into a workable songvid. This is an awesome, awesome way to be proven wrong.

As the vidders' summary says: "Rodney McKay + Stress = OTP". It's so, so true. Because some of the above fanvids were pretty dark, I wanted to end with this one, which is just incredibly fun. Rodney McKay in a nutshell, folks. With lots of coffee.

[livejournal.com profile] chayiana's vids are just stunning. Her Rodney McKay vid to the song Gravity of Love was one of my first SGA vids ever & I loved it so much. Have you seen it? I highly recommend it! :D
