Yeah.  So I cracked and started looking up old websites for the courses I'll be taking next year.

It's gonna be so many different kinds of awesome.

Instead of last year, which was basically 100% long, calculus-driven assignments, next year promises such exciting homework as bulleted lists:

  • Term papers!
  • Pop quizzes!
  • Class discussions!
  • Weather briefings!
  • Blowing stuff up Experiments!
  • Disaster management presentations!
  • Seminars that are actually useful!
  • Research projects!
And...
  • Long, calculus-driven assignments!! (hey, wouldn't want to change things up too much)
In short, my degree's gonna take a bit more of an artsy slant.  And anyone who knows me at all will know how thrilled I am at that prospect.

I'm also gonna have to give a lot of presentations (my Weather Analysis and Forecasting course involves my giving a 30-minute weather briefing once every few weeks, so at least I'll be getting practice).  I'm kinda terrified.

On the plus side, I'll actually get to know some of my professors.  I think... three of my first-term professors return for starring roles in my second term as well.  Hopefully this is a good thing!  And small classes, finally!  (Apart from the third-year course I snuck in last year, my smallest class size has been about 70.  Largest?  450.  Now I'm down to a dozen.  Talk about weeding people out.)

Okay, I'm done being all hyper about that.

Got more written today, almost got the STUPID SCENE OF DOOM!!!eleventyone!1 written.  Gah.  I don't know why I've been stuck on the same dang scene for the last three weeks, but I've nearly broken out of it (after discarding about fifteen pages of material - outtakes for the DVD extras! :D).  This hasn't happened before, and it shouldn't happen again, if my writing knows what's good for it.  *shakes fist*

ETA: Oh, and I fenced for eight hours this week.  Gold star!
