Well, it pops up about once a month, which is A+ in my books because I am generally an exceedingly cheerful person. :D

Ten Things that (Recently) Made Me Happy:

1. Keeping to my fic-a-day thingie for the third week, and the fact that I'm still having fun with it. Only, uh, forty-nine-and-a-half more weeks to go!
2. Friends - online and off - being generally made of all kinds of awesome!
3. Finally making my way through the very first series of Doctor Who!
4. My marks for last term! Huzzah!
5. Getting on fairly well with the roommates!
6. Fencing!
7. Having all my alternatives for a summer job neatly line themselves up and be mutually exclusive if necessary! (I'd been worrying that applying for one research position would preclude me from applying for the others, but each supervisor seems to have the same sense of priorities as I do - "I'd be happy to supervise you, but you should take the internship if you get it." Huzzah!)
8. Coming up with an appropriately ambitious topic for my Analysis/Forecasting term paper! ("Term paper", eh? Open-ended thirty page research project: it's actually a mini-thesis in diguise!)
9. Reading "Good Omens". Just 'cause.
10. Violin and piano behaving for me!

Yes. Much awesomesauce is to be had. Very busy, but very fun!

My progression through the First Doctor's era is coming along nicely! I love how much the TARDIS team has developed even over the course of the six serials I've seen.

And how much do I love The Aztecs? Lots and lots. I mean, the Doctor having fun with his own wacky sitcom subplot (the aforementioned romantic entanglement, which is really quite sweet), Ian showing off his mad schoolteacher/hand-to-hand combat skillz while developing his worrying habit of getting framed for murder/evildoing, and Barbara being undeniably made of HARDCORE AWESOME while dealing with/creating brilliant moral ambiguities? Also, wearing neat hats. And, um. Susan kind of gets forgotten for two episodes and gets relegated to the status of Plot Device Extraordinaire. (The Doctor: "I'll... tell you how glad I am to see you later on." Poor Susan.) But it works! Awesome bittersweet ending, too.

Glad to be filling this hole in my Doctor Who knowledge! I've got an assortment of episodes from each Doctor's era under my belt, as well as all of Jon Pertwee's and Tom Baker's serials, but I'm sort of hoping to see it all in order at some point. Huzzah!
