I mean, I've never particularly been a rabid fan (though I have grown up listening to his music and loving what I've heard), but every movie about the guy is so darn good! I adored No Direction Home when I saw it a while back, and I just watched I'm Not There last night, which I absolutely loved (except for maybe the Richard Gere scenes, but what can you do?). It is delightfully nonlinear, especially since I didn't have a clue what I was sitting down to watch and thus missed the whole "Cate Blanchett, Ben Whishaw, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, Marcus Carl Franklin and Heath Ledger are Bob Dylan" thing. It was lovely and poetic. That's my movie rec for the day month year.

Opinion seems to be pretty dang polarised on it, though, since critics either sing its praises or pan it - anyone else watch it?

I really want to see it, but my sister and mother hates him. Dad loves him, and I... I don't have an opion. But I will convince people to see it! Some day!

I thought it only had got good reviews? O:

Rottentomatoes seems to have a fair number of bad reviews - I think it's mostly because it's just so different and bizarre. I like different and bizarre, though, so that worked nicely. :D

I was planning to see it, but haven't yet. I felt that having assorted celebrities like that seemed a bit pretentious but it looked OK still. Will have to hunt it out now.

Oh, it is definitely on the pretentious side, but hey. I can deal with that, given how my writing tends to go. ;)

(Besides, Cate Blanchett as Dylan? Kind of the most awesome thing ever. What can I say?)

It looks really good and I haven't found time to see it yet either! I like some Dylan, but prefer his more obscure contemporary Al Stewart.

I keep meaning to, since it's showing at the cinema cafe here in town, but unfortunately I probably won't get around to it before the movies cycle again. Ah well, I'll probably just rent it later on.
