I'm really not all that good at this
Apr. 1st, 2008 04:07 pmAPRIL FOOLS'!
Honestly, I was trying to think of something that wasn't mean in any way, so I went with something self-deprecating. Also, I threw in a hint (see the music) that only
bellabelball caught! Honestly? The timing was just too darn beautiful to ignore (I always post my updates on a Tuesday).
Well, I had to do something! I was - and still am - generally regarded by folks who don't know me very well as overly serious and solemn (until a few years ago, I'd never so much as crack a smile in public, which is amusing as heck for anyone who knows me now), so I've since promised myself to snatch up every possible opportunity to be goofy. Also, I kind of like April Fools' when it's not malicious - it appeals to my paranoia to be right every now and then. ;)
Suffice it to say that I am not quitting the fic-a-day thing - I'm a quarter of the way there! Goodness, that's just barely started! Think of all themasterpieces random ramblings yet to come!
I do wish I hadn't posted the prank so early in the morning - if I'd been properly awake, I would've made up a sillier excuse about running out of ideas rather than mentioning my busy, busy month (which could still get in the way, for all I know, lolirony). Because I'm not out of ideas! As long as there are random objects lying around my room for me to pick up and get stories from, I won't stop writing.
No need to be concerned about my schedule - over the last few weeks, I've pulled myself up by my whatsits, and am no longer failing math (88 on the last assignment!). Priorities are just fine where they are at the moment. That said, if at any point the writing does interfere with academics, I will just disappear, resolution or no.
Really, though, I do feel terrible about this. I trust tonight's fic will partly make up for the whole fiasco - it is, uh, somewhat epic and all-encompassing and extremely, extremely silly.
Tonine more months 274 more fics!
