Week Seven - Progress Report (+stuff)
Feb. 19th, 2008 07:01 pmIn my freshman year, there was a booksale going on, and, like any good bibilophile, I had to stop and buy something. I wound up snagging one of those literature anthologies people get assigned in their first year and generally bitch and moan about - I love them to death, because it gives me an excuse to read something I might not, otherwise.
This book, I have concluded, is magic.
Case in point: I wondered if I might be able to find a poem that would give one of my ficathon pieces a little structure. I flipped the book open - and the very first poem I lay eyes on splits neatly into five parts, each of which matches precisely the subject matter of each section of the fic. It's uncanny.
Randomly watched The Girl in the Fireplace with commentary by Steven Moffat and Noel Clarke, which was hilarious. These guys are great.
Highlights:
- Moffat has most of the production staff/writers buried in his backyard in an unmarked grave
- Doctor Who in an exciting adventure of copping a feel!
- The haircut jokes. And the sonic screwdriver having a haircutting setting.
- The Doctor's real name is Curtis.
- Killer skateboarders!
- The Madame de Pompadour fansite! ("I think they'll regard this as non-canonical.")
It is extremely silly, but also quite fun.
And the progress report!
Seven weeks into my crazy writing New Year's Resolution - to post a fic or a chapter or a drabble for every day of 2008! You can browse the archives here, and watch my brain explode.
Postings: 49
Words Posted This Week: 6,809
Cumulative Word Count for 2008: 64,236
Comments: Hah, midterm week. Lots of short-fic, one Deepsky chapter, and the Master fic, of which I'm actually quite proud. Not bad!
Thanks as always for comments! They never fail to make my day. :D

Date: 2008-02-20 04:34 am (UTC)I love the haircut jokes. And Moffat admitting to not reading the end of Shcool Reunion, and so that's why the Rose/Mickey dynamic is so different in them. And more stuff that I can't remember. So yay!
My dream is for Tennant/Moffat commentary.Have you heard the Freema/David/John commentary for LOTTL? It wins over everything. Fo'shiz.
