Oh, definitely. My mindset always gets a bit jammed at the point where I enter the fandom - and I started off somewhere in the first few episodes of series three, where people were missing Rose and bashing Martha the most. So there you go - the situation's changed by now. Must keep up with the times!
In some ways they embrace all the old history and Canon, and in other ways they totally ignore it.
And that's their prerogative, I guess! (That's what you get when a show's resurrected by its fans - a lot of picking and choosing!)
As for Holmes, it IS all about Mrs. Hudson. Didn't you know? XD
