I'm looking appropriately sheepish, honest! (And hey, at least it's not lockpicking. I did that already.)

I never learned to pick a lock and I've always regretted it. Oh, the trouble that would have solved me... *le sigh*

I only learned out of necessity - as a little kid, I lost the key to my piggy bank that contained sixty dollars, and I really didn't want to smash it. But now I love little mechanisms and things and just like proving how they work. :D

Lockpicking is an important practical skill. Everybody needs to know it; you can't get into the practice rooms at 3:00 a.m. otherwise. Jimmying gumball machines is merely a natural outgrowth.
