New Star Trek trailer, dudes. Shiny. So. Shiny. I don't think I will attempt any coherent thoughts about whether or not it will be a total disaster, because I know I will be helplessly gleeful through the whole thing. Also, I'm easily awed by the pretty. But, come on, I've gotta wait until May? ;)

Also, public service announcement: somewhere in all those TOS outtakes lurking around YouTube, there is one in which Nimoy had a lollipop in his hand just off-camera. I giggled a bit too much.

I've never seen an episode of the original Star Trek, but I think that looks epic.

Epic! Exactly the word. It is a shiny, sparkly Trek thing that non-Trek people might actually watch! Goodness.

(As far as I'm concerned, it's pretty good timing. Only I'm almost through (re)watching all the movies to date, and then I will have to be impatient for a good long while. Hmm.)

I want to see it in a big theatre where the explosions and dramatic camera angles and slashiness such will knock me right off my feet. I wonder if we'll get it on Imax here?

It is very shiny, and I'm impressed by how right the kid playing Spock looks, but I do hope that the woman taking her top off wasn't Uhura. If Uhura is only there to be a Bond girl, I shall be unhappy.

But despite that: I'm excited.

I... am not a Star Trek fan. At all.

But that trailer looked great. Proper sci-fi space action adventure in what looks like The Wrath of Khan/First Contact mode, only shinier. And the awesome of Sylar as Spock is just beyond words. I'm going to see it at the cinema. Definitely.
