Week Thirteen - Progress Report
Apr. 1st, 2008 08:05 amThirteen weeks into my crazy writing New Year's Resolution - to post a fic or a chapter or a drabble for every day of 2008! You can browse the archives here, and watch my brain explode.
Postings: 91
Words Posted This Week: 5,013
Cumulative Word Count for 2008: 98,156
Comments: Well, it's gone about a billion times further than I ever expected - this makes three entire months I've been posting daily (if nothing else, that's quite a consistent access to the internet, isn't it?). And, unfortunately, I think this probably makes a very good place to stop.
You all know that I've been busy - well, it may be time to get my priorities in order. Taking time each night to write fanfic may not be the best use of it. It has been fun, and I have learned an enormous amount - not to mention having made about 80 new friends! - but yes. Will probably be taking a real hiatus from LJ soon: no posting, nothing.
So, uh. Thanks for all the support! Your comments have been wonderful, and I will still try to post fic every once in a while (if nothing else, to fill my ficathon requirements).
It's been wild.
EDIT: I'm so sorry, etc.

Date: 2008-04-01 03:46 pm (UTC)i have been thinking of stealing your format, and making a pledge to make some sort of piece of art every day. big things and also wee things, to make sure that i am keeping my working consistent (i.e. to make sure i DO IT). i was admiring how you worked on long format things while also working on short pieces, just to make sure you kept your outut going, which i think might be good for me because i let myself get stuck an awful lot when i am working on things. also i focus too much on large unwieldy projects and don't quite get stuffs done a lot.
but, erm. yes. my point was that you did a good job, and it was a bit inspiring over here. plus you wrote a bunch of awesome fic, which is a good thing as well (i hven't read your drabbles because i have limited internets time and i was hoping you'd consolidate them into a giant DRABBLE POST sometime that i could peruse at leisure, plus i'm sure i missed a bunch of other stuff as well, but yeah, i'll get to it for sures).

Date: 2008-04-01 05:19 pm (UTC)I think it's totally understandable that your real life must come first. Dude, you wrote almost 100,000 words in 3 months! That's insane! Do you have any idea how inspirational you've been to all of us? chat and I were talking about it. You're our hero! :D

Date: 2008-04-01 08:54 pm (UTC)I'll miss you during the soon-ish hiatus, but... priorities, yes. And if I don't have the time to comment before you go on hiatus: good luck with everything!
(I just realised I'm sounding like I'm saying goodbye and you're going on this long Epic Journey through the Land of Important Stuff. Um. Yeah. I'm crazy. :P )

Date: 2008-04-01 10:30 pm (UTC)I am extremely excited at the prospect of lots and lots of art! :D! And yes, having wee things to offset the bigger ones makes sense - at first I was going to make myself write at least 500 words every day, but there are nights that are honestly too drabble-worthy. Best of best of luck!
i was hoping you'd consolidate them into a giant DRABBLE POST sometime that i could peruse at leisure
Ooh! Will do that sometime around December, maybe? :D
Anyway, yes. Apologies again and thank you for all the wonderfulness, and best of luck with your own artsing! <33!

Date: 2008-04-05 10:39 pm (UTC)i actually started my own art odyssey on apr 01. so far, so good, although i haven't made much good yet. one drawing i like, and the first issue of new futurian, which i just posted on my journal. i'll post more when i've got more time; i'd like to have some sort of way of keeping track of what i do. we'll see.
anyway, YOU RULE. yes.
