Because I am lying liar who lies, I went back to the [livejournal.com profile] who_anon meme today and found that I had made an appearance! In a positive context! Am not sure what to make of this, except maybe to conclude that I am not as invisible as I thought I was. Flist has been growing by leaps and bounds lately, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised? Argh, dunno.

But there is an important lesson to be learned here! Quote from the meme: "though I am scared to friend her on account of her BNFness."

Eep! Is there really anyone out there who thinks I'm BNFly? This calls for some Fun Confessions. (Do not read if you would like to keep the impression that I am a grand master of Whodom!)

- I have had an LJ for less than a year!
- I have been a Who fan for less than a year!
- I am too intimidated to post on [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho, the-forum-formerly-known-as-OG, TWOP, or anywhere famous!
- I have never attended a Who convention! (mostly due to the fact that I live too far away, sad-face)
- I have never met any fellow die-hard Who fans in real life, apart from those poor souls who have watched a few episodes and must thus submit themselves to my inane ramblings! (again, mostly due to geographical location)

Seriously, all I do is write fanfic and reviews and people appear from nowhere like fannish ninjas and friend me! I am not the Evil One! I do not eat babies! I sincerely hope that I do not scare people away, because I still consider myself new to this whole Doctor Who fandom lark and would hate to think I'm missing out on making new friends. Reading my flist is the highlight of my day.

Even if you were not the person quoted above, if you've been considering friending me, please do so! Heck, we'll make this a meme, because I am terribly shy when it comes to friending people as well: If you've ever wanted to friend me but have been too nervous to do so, now's your chance! Comment with a little introduction, and odds are good that I'll friend you back.

There. I hope that settles matters. :D

You have that air of BNFiness about you because, well, you're talented and prolific. Usually that qualifies somebody. There are so many negatives that go along with that term that I hesitate to use it in reference to anyone, though. I mean, we're all fans. Some are just more well-known in fandom (some even deservedly so). JMHO.

If anything nice were ever to be said on that thing, I am not at all surprised that it would be about you! ;)

Okay, call me stupid. What in the name of Four's hat is BNF? :P

Hee, I guess I'm just a bit surprised that the writing-fic-every-day thing garnered as much attention as it did, all in all: I think I've about doubled the size of my flist since January. And it's only March!

But yeah, I've seen BNF used as a term of derision, etc. I would hate to become well-known in fandom because when you've got people watching your every move, it's that much easier for them to twist your words and madness ensues. I like having my own little corner. ;)

BNF = Big Name Fan, the fans that everybody seems to know about. That made me sporfle a bit. ;)

ADMIT IT YOU EAT BABIES. Maybe only once a week or so BUT YOU EAT THEM.
So, yeah, I'm hopped up on Advil, can you tell? Whee sickness. Anyway, I totally think you're an awesome person, and if you're not a BNF you deserve to be (in a good, non-wanky way), you're talented and prolific as minerva_fan said, and, well, you're awesome. Yeah. All that. All you lurkers, she's super nice! Really!

It is good fanfic! I don't know whether you're a BNF, though, I have no idea who is in this fandom.

As well you should! I strive to maintain an atmosphere of terror around here.

I AM TRYING TO CUT BACK ON MY BABY INTAKE OKAY. D:

Aw, being sick is not fun. Rest much, take much Advil, and be merry. I should have your betaing back tonight, though - something to look forward to?

And whee! [livejournal.com profile] the_chestertons ficathon entries appear tomorrow! Most exciting! If that doesn't cure you, nothing will. ;)

i think a big thing is the ridiculous amount of fic you produce. i mean, i just friended you a few months ago, and WAY BACK THEN you had... four whofics written. FOUR. (at least that were linked to from you lj).

so... you have more fic than most of the more recognisable peoples from around fandom. it is pretty intense, yes.

anyway, hearts.

I've had dreams of getting up in the middle of the night and posting Whofic - at least, I hope they're dreams. It's become as much a part of my routine as tooth-brushing! Only more fun than dental hygiene.

I am a bit nervous that people will start telling me to lay off on the fic-related spammage a bit, which is why I rarely crosspost the fics outside my happy journal-type boundaries. But it is a challenge that I have every intention of finishing!

(The question will be how to top that for 2009!)

Assuming you like it, yeah, and I'm not, like, under the influence or something or writing wildly OOC. Yeah. *sigh*
But I am looking forward to the ficathon SO SO MUCH. I've been watching endless First Doctor to get their voices in my head, and I have been jonesing for fic so bad. Need...moar...
Yes. I am excited! Get betaing back soon plz, I love hearing from betas. <3

You know me! I hate your fic and everything it stands for. ;) (I am overcome with squee over both fics you sent me, by the way. WRITE MOAR!)

Betaing is working nicely in terms of a procrastination mechanism because it makes me feel accomplished. :D

That's because I totally write to displease you. You, personally. Your horrified gasps are candy to my soul. (Really? You really like them? Eeee! I shall!)
Excellent! We both benefit. I get my fics back and you get accomplishment! Also, ILU Susan. Trufax.

Is BNF a common sort of expression I should be learning?
You should travel to England with the sole purpose of attending Doctor Who conventions. Not a waste of money in the slightest... I haven't actually been to one since I was about six and still in the being-scared-of-assorted-monsters phase, but you must definitely go to one!

Check, check, check, check and check. You just have a much more outgoing, efficient, fearless personality than I (and talented, and Rassilon, you're prolific- I must be months behind). [Plus, we keep missing each other on opportunities for me to eat your brain to visit.]

And hey, you were recced multiple times on [livejournal.com profile] calufrax. That counts as being pretty respected.

So much for not commenting past midnight. Is it 4AM yet?

Well, how can I resist friending you now? Whereas I must admit I too was a little intimidated by your fabulous writing.

But now I know you're Canadian to boot, there's no stopping me!

(where're you from BTW? - I'm a native New Brunswicker who's landed in NL after years in Quebec)

In my modest experience, there are basically two kinds of BNF--the kind who get there by being so damned talented they can't be ignored, and the kind who hate the first variety.
