First off, an extremely happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] wheresmycow and [livejournal.com profile] bellabelball! I can't believe I missed them both - hope you guys had awesome days and will celebrate today as well. :D

This one's snagged from [livejournal.com profile] rachelbeann, because it is made of awesome. I'm going to do it first with movies, then with TV shows, because I'm just ornery that way (and because my taste in movies doesn't seem to overlap much with my taste in TV shows - why is that?). Also, I love quoting things at you. :D

1. Pick 15 10 of your favourite movies and 10 of your favourite TV shows.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions. Totally cheating, you dirty cheaters.

(Some of these are such total classics that I had a hard time not going with giveaway lines.)

:

#1.
A: What's the last thing that you do remember?
B: My wife...
A: That's sweet.
B: ...dying.

(Memento - [livejournal.com profile] rosa_acicularis got it!)

#2.
A: I'd like to have your advice on how to live comfortably without working hard.

#3.
A: They treat me like a criminal. I'll end up a criminal.
B: You are a criminal.
A: Why you gotta go and do that? I'm trying to make a point.

(The Usual Suspects - [livejournal.com profile] rapunzelita got it!)

#4.
A: What country you from?
B: What?
A: What ain't no country I ever heard of! They speak English in What?
B: What?

(Pulp Fiction - [livejournal.com profile] stunt_muppet got it!)

#5.
A: September 28th, 1997. It is exactly 11am. At the funfair, near the ghost train, the marshmallow twister is twisting. Meanwhile, on a bench in Villette Square, Félix Lerbier learns there are more links in his brain than atoms in the universe. Meanwhile, at the Sacré Coeur, the nuns are practising their backhand. The temperature is 24°C, humidity 70%, atmospheric pressure 990 millibars.

(Amelie - [livejournal.com profile] kindkit got it!)

#6.
A: You give him credit for too much cleverness. My impression was that he's just another blundering American.
B: We musn't underestimate American blundering. I was with them when they blundered into Berlin in 1918.

(Casablanca - [livejournal.com profile] biichan got it!)

#7.
A: Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who.

(Monty Python and the Holy Grail - [livejournal.com profile] viedma got it!)

#8.
A: She can't act, she can't sing, she can't dance. A triple threat.

(Singin' in the Rain - [livejournal.com profile] rosa_acicularis got it!)

B: To see with eyes unclouded by hate.

(Mononoke-hime - [livejournal.com profile] manji_chan got it!)

#10.
A: I thought you meant the other Italian restaurant I asked you to marry me in.

(The Sixth Sense - [livejournal.com profile] drox got it!)

:

#1.
A: Where are you going?
B: To a place called "Rare Books." You know what they sell?
A: ...fishing tackle?

(The West Wing - [livejournal.com profile] wondygal got it!)

#2.
A: What does the gun do?
B: It shoots bullets. Really fast.

(The Lost Room - [livejournal.com profile] manji_chan got it!)

#3.
A: Would you mind not standing on my chest? My hat's on fire.

(Doctor Who - [livejournal.com profile] stunt_muppet got it!)

#4.
A: A life, [B], you know what that is? It's the shit that happens while you're waiting for moments that never come.

#5.
A: Don't you watch any horror movies? My soul is doomed to walk the earth until justice has been served...
B: Really?
A: Yeah. That, and as kind of a side project, I dispense fashion advice.

(Veronica Mars - [livejournal.com profile] wondygal got it!)

#6.
A: I'm not up on that new stuff.
B: You're not up on it? Or you're not into it?
A: I might be into it, if I was up on it. But I'm not up on it, so I'm not into it. What I'm into, I'm up on.
C: I'm mostly into what I'm up on, but even though I'm not up on the new stuff, I'm sort of into it.
A: I'm down with that.
B: Prepositions are fun, aren't they?
A: What's a preposition?

#7.
A: Look, do you mind? It's like watching a game of perpendicular tennis.

#8.
A: So [B], where's your little partner?
B: She couldn't come. She was afraid of her love for you.

(The X-Files - [livejournal.com profile] whorl got it!)

#9.
A: Jelly donuts?
B: [A], that goes without saying.

(Twin Peaks - [livejournal.com profile] scarletsherlock got it!)

#10.
A: I think your argument is specious.
B: I think your tie is ugly.

(House - [livejournal.com profile] rapunzelita got it!)

EDIT: *cackles madly* Two of the memes I invented earlier this year are making a comeback. The internet is mine! :D

I think #5 of the movies is Amelie.

I also think I should recognize a lot of the others, but I don't.

FILM #3 IS USUAL SUSPECTS WHICH I JUST SAW ON TV YAY ME. (Sorry about the capslocks. I'm currently in my "lack of sleep whee overexcited!" mode. And not really coherent.)

Film #5 is Amélie :D

TV show #10 is House.

("To see with eyes unclouded by hate." Damn, that line really rings a bell. ;_;)

Right on!

I really picked a lot of the more obscure quotes for most of these. And a bunch are... fairly obscure to begin with. But it was fun looking for the quotes! :D

Yup, got it! (It was tricky not coming up with a dead giveaway quote for that one.)

HOORAY USUAL SUSPECTS! :D I wasn't sure who would get that one. Good movie! I need to watch it again...

Got all three! (Though [livejournal.com profile] kindkit beat you to Amélie - and I need to watch this one again, too. Ooh, and I have it on my bookshelf! Homework, you can wait for a couple hours.)

"To see with eyes unclouded by hate."

That's another pretty obscure one, in some crowds. There are a few people here, I think, who'll figure it out right away, though. :D

(Tried to go with as much of a variety of shows as possible - but now I keep thinking of ones I forgot to put up there!)

Hope you had a really good one - I hereby offer you a fic of your choice as penance for the late birthday wishes. :D

I recognize #4, just can't remember what it's from! That line is hilarious though. :)

The next line in the scene would've made it instantly recognisable. ;)

"I believe I would eat this book before I read it. "

I love that show way more than is probably healthy. :D As soon as I started browsing the "quotes" section, I knew I'd just have to pick one and get out of there, or I'd be tempted to make a whole West Wing quote-spam of power. Hee!

#9 under movies is from Princess Mononoke, isn't it?

#2 under tv shows is from the lost room.
(I've always wanted the bus ticket, myself.)

And that's all I've got.

4 in Movies: Pulp Fiction? Must have tricky not coming up with givaway lines for that.

3. Fourth Doctor? I think? Yes, I think it is.

Hee, I love this meme. It brings out the film geek in me.

Hee! Good call on that one - and Louis did say it! :D (But I don't know if anyone's gonna get the last quote - it's a bit obscure. And the three TV shows aren't particularly obvious either.)

Of course, I saw this comment right after writing Six!fic and was all: "Six is Casablanca?"

I think my brain exploded from crossover.

LOLS

(I totally want there to be a fic where Three and Liz turn up at Rick's Cafe Americain... but I have this horrible habit of particularly liking characters who do awesomer snark than I can write. Bogey's top of the list. *sadface*)
