Currently? -46C. Traffic's so backed up (and the exhaust buildup on the main drag's so thick) that I'll probably have to walk down side-streets on the way to school. So, uh, 45 minutes in the cold, plus however much gets added on for trudging through uncleared snow the whole time.

On the other hand, if I ever write a fic about somebody freezing to death, I may well have the firsthand experience! :D

I finally get the meaning of the idiom "when hell freezes over".

*warm hugs*

What city do you live in? I lived in Edmonton for a few years, and I remember -45.

Quebec City is colder than Montreal, and we get more snow, but it's nowhere as bad as Edmonton was.

Got it in one! I would hate hate hate to be in, say, Winnipeg this time of year. That would just be unbearable (well, except for today when it's frustratingly warm over there). At least we get the occasional edges of Chinooks from time to time! (A bit colder in Calgary today, though, moohaha.)

Yeah, the one thing you can say for Edmonton is that it really doesn't get all that much snow. One or two flurries a month, and we're set!

I adore Quebec City, by the by - travelled there on several occasions about... ten years ago. And now I'm hoping to wind up at McGill for grad school! Excellent atmospheric science program + proximity to so many awesome cities = a good thing!

Jesus.. O_O That's so cold.

Still, knowing this will sound weird, I am a bit jealous for that actually. If only just a bit..
This is because Finland is having another crappy, snow-less winter. Last year even worse, though: we had September-like weather until late January or so and then the 'winter weather' (-20C or -28C) lasted about two weeks and was completely gone again. Blah.

But I know, I know.. It may be lovely to look at, but the cold is and always will be damn uncomfortable. :/ Take care girl!

Don't forget the creaking snow. And having to squint your eyes so they don't turn into blocks of ice. The melting snow trickling into your boots. And the way you can feel your fingers freezing until they're replaced by an all-consuming throb despite the extra-thick mittens you put on this morning...

What? I've had a lot of time to think about this, as well.

Ugh, I know, it is SO cold here! *hugs and steals heat* Ha ha.
We have to go outside at night to milk the cow, and it's super freezing, it was -56 with the windchill the other night.
