Hocrap. When did this happen?

I got an e-mail from somebody who saw one of my many (well, three) ads posted around campus - he's interested in teaching me the violin over the summer!

The catch?  He's a fairly well-known composer hereabouts.  I was expecting, y'know, some undergrad in music who wanted to gain some experience.  I don't know if he'll go for the barter system I'm proposing, since I assume he knows his theory well enough not to need lessons from me.

Also: he's a fan of Terry Pratchett (judging by the fact that he wrote a whole comedy-opera about it).

What am I getting into?

Heeheehee.  Who cares?  I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it).

Also: Doctor Who = fantastic.  Where's it been all my life?  Oh, that's right.  In Britain.  *shakes fist*

Oooooo! Le violin is le sex!

The instrument is second to none, though it does share first place on the list of Cookie music loffs right along with the piano. *rolls around on top of the piano*

If I had gone a-seeking music lessons, I definitely would have stipulated that my teacher had a masked deformity. Chances are you're getting a better deal- though he may try and coerce you into becoming his bride and living in the ground with him. In your situation, I don't know if that would be better or worse.

But anyhoo, hope the lessons go well! *applauds*

*sporfles* Now, why didn't I put that in my ad? (Note: not yet a Phan, but only from lack of experience. *stares down at shoes*)

Looks like I'll get the chance to share my lurve for the piano in all this, too. He's finally told me the catch: he's looking for a semi-regular accompanist (semi-regular, that's me!).

He's put out CDs and whatnot. That's sort of intimidating.

But I love me some accompanyingistification jobs! *rolls along* I was hoping to form a Dynamic Duo at some point, anyway...

Many thanks for the best wishes and applause! :D!

There exists in the world a person who has written a comedy opera based on the works of Terry Pratchett? WOW. *jawdrop*

Sometimes the Internet is made of awesome.
