Am I the only one who'd heard absolutely nothing about it? A high school boy, Lawrence King, was shot execution-style a week ago by one of his classmates at school, allegedly because he was openly gay.
Even this article is... off, to say the least, citing statistics and insinuating that "hey, homophobia's not really a problem anymore!" Which, um. (On another pushing-my-buttons tack, it mentions that homophobia is less prevalent than sexism according to these stats. Er. That makes it all better, then?)
Anyway, yes. Spread the story, if you can - this is the sort of thing that people need to hear about.

Oh, yes. Not only does it make it all better, but sexuality and attitudes toward gender have nothing to do with each other at all. Which makes the comparison of the two all the more relevant. Somehow.
