I'll second what rdamel and sg_betty have already told you: Fig is the best for gen recs, and has them further broken down into team fics and duo-centered friendship fics, as well. Easy surfing!

Oh, and you said you weren't really familiar with SG-1 fandom on LJ, so:

sg1_debrief - Debrief posts a list every week covering all things SG-1 on LJ.

sg1_ever_after - Happy Ending fics comm...fills me with warm fuzzies.

stargateficrecs - Massive and covering all manner of fics. Various volunteers signs up to rec categories of fic each month.

redial_the_gate - It sounds like you just did yourown rewatch of the whole series, but if you want to come geek out and squee with other fans about the show, this rewatch comm is great fun. We just finished Season 5 so we'll be addressing That Episode Where They're All Firefighters shortly.
