Layout, I kick you. (also: HALP?)

I'm completely lost unless I'm working from scratch, so here am I all lazy and going for a lovely premade layout - and that big stupid grey box pops up right on top. Anyone have a clue what they're doing? More than me? I've swapped a few things around without any luck.
